Audio Restoration
Preserving History
A blank piece of tape or vinyl is pretty much worthless. Put your Father's, Mother's, Daughter's or Son's voice on it and suddenly it's priceless. Keeping it in a cool dry place is your first line of defense against deterioration, but no one can enjoy it if it sits in storage. Restore it to today's standards and create a recording that you can enjoy and share without the risk of losing the original content.
Using the absolute best equipment, the audio experts at Sound Images can carefully bring your old memories back to life. Sound Images Audio Restoration Service delivers affordable, high quality digitally restored sound on your choice of formats, no matter what the original source may be.
What Formats?
● Audio tape cassette (standard, mini, micro)
● Reel-to-reel (¼”, ½”, 1” and 2”)
● Discs / records (vinyl, metal, and acetate)
Our Process:
1) Consultation: Before we start your audio restoration, we will analyze your materials, and discuss your expectations, then project the time and cost to complete the project.
2) Next, we rejuvenate old tapes where necessary and perform proper alignment.
3) Next we prepare, and calibrate the necessary playback devices.
4) Digitization and restoration: We transfer the audio content from its original format, and digitally correct problem areas by removing clicks, pops, hum, hiss, and then fix speed issues, and equalization problems. When multi-track tapes are involved, we can also remix and mastering of the tracks.
5) Output and testing: Upon restoration, we output the audio to a digital format (CD, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM) test the final product, and notify client for pick up of both the original and the new files.
Pricing:
Quoted for each custom project.
